Escapade is a collection of the Afro-Fusion act’s deepest experiences expressed across different sounds and themes. Speaking about his sound, Novemba told Apple Music, “Everyone talks about genres, but with me it’s more or less about making good music first… It’s African, so it’s original and it’s a fusion of a whole lot of genres.”
Novemba sings about loss, pain, and pressure over dreamy instrumentation. The mood picks up on Spiritualize as Novemba embraces a grateful outlook. On Love Vacancy, he describes the complexities of a situationship. “Love is a drug that she doesn’t need, but she is telling me to say don’t leave,” he sings. The final three tracks, Vibe, Ewo & Rewind touch on love and romance.
